The situation

Every season, the same 60-hour problem.

OLSS Basketball runs one of the most complex recreational league structures on Staten Island — 120+ teams spread across 20 divisions, with cross-division matchups that add competitiveness and give teams a chance to play outside their usual bracket. It's a great experience for players. It's a scheduling nightmare for the director.

The league tried LeagueToolbox. They tried SportsEngine. Neither could handle cross-division scheduling without forcing the director into manual workarounds. Every season ended the same way: printed spreadsheets, hours of manual work, and the nagging certainty that a better solution had to exist somewhere.

What changed

XCourt handled what every other platform couldn't.

XCourt automated the full schedule — cross-division matchups, team availability, and all the custom constraints that had always required manual intervention. But the director also needed something no platform had ever offered: automated official scheduling, with officials matched to games based on their availability and their ability to handle each division's level of competitiveness.

They asked. XCourt built it.

The result

60 hours back. A more competitive league. A platform that actually fits.

The schedule that used to take 60 hours now takes a fraction of that. Cross-division matchups that had to be built manually are now automated. Officials are matched to the right games without a single manual assignment. And when the director needed something new, XCourt delivered it.

We've tried LeagueToolbox and SportsEngine. Every time, we ended up back on spreadsheets because nothing handled our scheduling requirements that maximize competition and accommodate team availability the way we actually needed it. XCourt solved that.
